Defense Fodder vs No Fodder

When you are attacked I will always tell you to remove fodder. Many ask why cuz they believe fodder protects the archers. actually they hinder them, here is why.

You have a full archer rainbow coming at you. You have Pikes, and swords in your city. attack goes like this:

Archer towers fire on attackers archers.
Attackers troops move towards range.
Defenders troops move toward range.

Attackers layers come into range of fodder and attack.
Defenders archers fire on attackers Layers.
Attackers Archers fire on Defenders archers.

So you see attackers get an extra shot at defenders archers because defenders archers are using their shot to defend against the layers coming. Rules of battle are hit what hits first and what they come in contact first. Swords and pikes are faster than archers in coming into range so would be the first to engage battle causing the archers to have to stop movement to fire on attackers layers.


With out fodder:

Archer towers fire on attacking archers.
Troops move to range
Attackers scouts rush defenders archers and die. Usually only kills 100-200 archers
Defenders archers fire on attackers archers.


see this way Defending archers get to concentrate their attacks on the attacking archers and in the end defend themselves doing it cuz none fo the other troops get a chance to touch them. Now this versus the with fodder the battle engages as soon as defenders layers come into range giving the defenders mech the chance to kill em before they can reach the archers and still allowing the archers to concentrate on attacking archers.

This is based on the fact of having at least 200K archers in your city ( you have to have MORE than what they are sending at you by @ least 1 1/2, and 10K ballistas. Having less ballistas work but you have to have a damn good hero to do good with that little amount of ballistas.
